Strategic Healthcare Program's seven segment-specific services, though similar in function, are customized to each segment and named accordingly: SHP for Agencies™, SHP for Hospice™, SHP for Telehealth™, SHP for Private Duty™, SHP for Home Infusion™, SHP for HME™ and SHP for Patient Satisfaction™. Home care agencies, hospices, infusion pharmacies and medical equipment organizations send their data to the SHP web site, where it is run through the company’s decision support and analysis engines. Reports and customized online query functions are immediately available to the customer.

SHP offers automatic data extraction via software integration with certain home care software applications. With others, a proprietary “sweeper” system scans customer databases for information to be transmitted to the company for clinical, operational, financial, sales and patient satisfaction analysis. Various levels of data exchange capabilities are available with 3M, Cerner Beyond Now, Definitive (CPR+), Fastrack, GLMI, Healthcare Automation, Inc., Healthcare Synergy, HealthMedX, HomMed (Central Station™), InfoSys, Management by Information (MBI), McKesson, Misys, Specialized Clinical Systems and others.

 Technology:

Strategic Healthcare Program's data analysis products were developed by SHP staff. Client software was developed using Microsoft Visual Basic and Visual Basic.NET. Windows 98/NT and newer Operating Systems are required for .NET versions. Other versions are available for all MS platforms. On the vendor side, applications are built with Microsoft development products, ASP .NET, Transact-SQL, SQL Reporting Services, Analysis Services, MSMQ, Business Objects and Dundas Chart and Guage for ASP .NET. The company’s hosted environment includes MS Windows 2000 Advanced Server, 2003 Server and XP Professional, running on HP, Dell and Compaq servers. Underlying database structure includes MS SQL Server 2000, MS Message Queue Servers and Web Service hosts. Networking and communications are supported by Multicampus Windows network, Active Directory and Cisco and Sonicwall firewall and routing equipment. The SHP data center is co-located for security.

 How offered:

Customers subscribe to SHP services for $5,495 per year per site. Additional lines of business under the same company receive services for 20% less. Subscribers submit data as often as they choose and access reports through a secure web site. Reports are pre-defined but users can submit custom data queries by date range, disease type, region, payer type and other parameters using web site tools.

 Implementation, Training and Support:

Training is ongoing and available to new and existing customers during scheduled online sessions, via teleconference, supported by “GoToMeeting,” three times per week. There is no charge for this training but groups are limited to five participants. Online follow-up education is provided weekly. On-site training is available. Charges include travel expenses only.

Customer support is available Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Pacific Time. Email support is also available. Customer calls are logged and returned based on a priority system.
