HealthWyse is a 32-bit Windows-based system supporting administrative/financial and clinical functions for Home Health, Hospice and Private Duty providers. The system consists of five application modules that form the complete solution. Major functions include support for electronic billing, OASIS assessments and other clinical functions, point-of-care electronic chart and telephony. The application operates on servers and PCs running recent versions of Windows. HealthWyse typically hosts the application for its users, and has several technical options to address the IT requirements of agencies of all sizes.

 Product Description:

HealthWyse offers its product in five integrated modules:

  • FinanceWyse supports financial, billing, A/R and collections functions.
  • OfficeWyse is a back office application, supporting scheduling, 485/OASIS review and management tools.
  • PalmWyse is a clinical point-of-care system running on Pocket PCs, laptop/notebooks or Tablet PCs.
  • CallWyse is a telephony documentation system for home health aides, volunteers and para professional staff.
  • ReportWyse is an optional module for the development of custom reports and queries

 Technology:

HealthWyse was developed in Visual Basic, C++ and HTML. It operates on standard Windows servers and PCs and makes use of a Sybase database. Users selecting the software purchase option must also license Sybase. The cost of Sybase is included in the “Total Care" option (see below). HL7 interfacing is built into the product. Desktop workstations should be up-to-date PCs running recent Windows versions. Custom reports can be developed using the built-in ReportWyse or by export to a 3rd-party report writer.

 How Offered:

HealthWyse makes the system available in two ways. "Total Care" includes software licenses and remote hosting services, desktop PCs, Pocket PCs or laptop computers, implementation and training. “Total Care" is charged on a negotiated per-device fee. HealthWyse will also implement the product on customer servers for a traditional up-front licensing fee plus annual maintenance charges.  “Essential Care” is a traditional software purchase option in which software licenses, implementation and hosting services are purchased through HealthWyse, and the client takes responsibility for their own network and hardware.

 Implementation, Training and Support:

HealthWyse offers implementation planning services and onsite training. A “train the trainer" approach is typically recommended though education programs are designed for each customer. Support is available at all times via a toll-free telephone number and 24/7 paging system.
