HealthMEDX offers three information systems solutions that utilize web-based technology. These integrated solutions support administrative / financial and clinical functions as well as workflow automation and analytic operations for home care and hospice providers, private duty and staffing service firms.
- WebCARE is the core system, supporting administrative and
clinical functions. The four major areas of WebCARE include Patient Management, Scheduling, Clinical and Financial.
- eWorkflow automates workflow processs.
- eAnalyst is an executive dashboard that supports real-time data analysis.
HealthMEDX staff developed the company’s three applications and introduced them to home care and hospice in 2001. Typically hosted on the vendor’s own servers, WebCARE supports intake, scheduling, clinical, financial and administrative functions. eWorkflow supports communications, access to information residing in multiple databases, and workflow management across functional areas. It can serve as a standalone product or can be interfaced with WebCARE. The third product, eAnalyst, provides a decision support tool for monitoring clinical and financial outcomes.
WebCARE and eWorkflow are browser-based applications
written in Visual Basic using Microsoft’s Windows Distributed
interNet Applications Architecture (Windows DNA). Both run
on Windows 2000/2003 dual-processor Pentium servers and require
a SQL 2000 server, both provided by the vendor in hosted implementations.
Visual Basic serves the Business Logic Layer and Active Server Pages
the Visual layer. Desktop stations require Windows 98 or above and
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 running on Pentium III or newer
processors. No 3rd-party software must be licensed to operate either
application. Custom HL7 interfaces are available for a fee.
eAnalyst is a browser-based application written in Visual Basic .NET. Running on a Windows 2000/2003 dual-processor Pentium server, eAnalyst requires a SQL 2000 and a SQL Analysis Services server, both provided by the vendor in hosted implementations. VB.Net serves the Business Logic Layer and ASP.NET the Visual Layer. Desktop stations require Windows 98 or above and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 running on Pentium III or newer processors. Use of pivot tables requires Microsoft Excel to be licensed on the client machine. Use of Dashboard and other eAnalyst reports does not require third party component registration.
HealthMEDX systems are offered for standard purchase or monthly lease.
Annual maintenance fees are approximately 20% of software license
fees per year. The company provides computer hardware but does not
require customers to obtain it from them.
