CareVoyant is a Microsoft .NET based application that supports administrative/financial and clinical functions for Home Health, Hospice, Home Medical Equipment, Private Duty and Staffing providers. There is an optional point-of-care application that runs on laptop/notebook and Tablet PCs and exchanges data either while connected or via periodic uploads to the back office database system. CareVoyant will install CareVoyant on customer servers or host the product on its own servers. CareVoyant also offers a version of CareVoyant for Long Term Care facilities and physician practices.
CareVoyant staff in Illinois and additional programmers in India developed CareVoyant. The original version was introduced in 1991 and the current version is the 9th release of the product. The application supports EDI billing, A/R, scheduling, OASIS, clinical documentation, point of care, provider web portal and business intelligence functions. There are interfaces for GL and other 3rd party applications, including Microsoft Dynamics GP and various SQL based accounting and payroll systems. CareVoyant is a partner of, and offers interfaces with products from Microsoft Dynamics, First DataBank, VNA First (clinical pathways), Santrax (telephony software) and HomeMed telemedicine software. CareVoyant clinical documentation includes configurable templates that enable providers to enhance the system with customized content and data fields.
Developed using Microsoft .NET and the SQL Server 2005 technologies, CareVoyant extensively incorporates the platform’s service oriented architecture. The software uses Reporting Services, Notification Services and Analysis Services to identify and track exceptions in key clinical and business processes and prompt users to address them, based on their role in the agency. The point of care module uses SQL Server Replication and wireless technologies to synchronize mobile devices with the office-based server. The software supports SQL queries and scripts, user-defined stored procedures and event triggers, ODBC, ActiveX, XML and other integration technologies. CareVoyant runs on industry standard Windows compliant servers. The SQL Server 2005 database and components of the .NET platform must also be licensed.
When installed, CareVoyant is licensed for a one-time fee per user and an annual maintenance fee. When CareVoyant hosts it remotely, there is a monthly fee.

Implementation, Training and Support: |
CareVoyant offers implementation consulting services and onsite training in three phases. Initial Project Management and Staff Training provide base knowledge of the software through setup of master records. All implementations employ a conference room pilot approach that fully configures the solution in a test environment before going live with the system. Application Training is for all key system users and is custom designed for each customer’s needs. Technical Training is offered to selected staff that will use Microsoft Reporting, Analysis and Notification Services and an imbedded Screen Modifier. Support is available via toll-free telephone and fax from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Central time. Calls are returned in the order received, adaptable to priority/emergency situations. Modem support is available for issues that do not require immediate, live consultation. After-hours support via pager is available for an additional fee.
